Purim is coming!

Purim is coming and we are gearing up for a fabulous school-wide celebration. Next week is Ruach Week, where every day of the week is an opportunity to dress up in a different theme. See the poster below for the schedule. Another way we celebrate is by going to the Purim Carnival. To make it even more fun, students can win tickets and trade them in for prizes! We are looking for donations of gently used toys and tchatchkes to be used as prizes. If you would like to donate something and are unsure if it is appropriate, please send us a picture and we will let you know!

100th day is Wednesday!

100th day of school is this coming Wednesday, March 1st!

Please send in your child’s “100 items” tomorrow so we can prepare to kick off the celebrations in the morning. The items have to be 100 of something (like buttons, stickers, etc), fit in your child’s backpack, and it cannot be food. If you need ideas or want to share what your child has chosen, please reach out or comment on this post. Thank you for your help!

JK will be visiting the Book Fair on Tuesday, December 6th and the kids will have a chance to buy some books. We sent home a flyer earlier in the week, and you can also check out the Virtual Book Fair Link with your child and pick a few options – it will give you a sense of how much money to send to school. We ask that you send your child’s money in a ziploc baggie with their name on it and the total amount you are sending. You can also send a list of preferred books with your child, though we cannot guarantee that every title will be available.  If you would prefer to buy online, that’s also great, but please ensure that your child understands that they will not be buying a book at school (to avoid disappointment).
Parents are also welcome to visit the Book Fair! See the poster below for more information. The book fair will be open during Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday night from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and Friday morning from 8:30 am until 12:00 pm.

Recyclables, Please!

Calling all JK makers!

Global Maker Day is happening on Thursday, October 20th and we excited to take part in the challenges!

We are collecting items such as toilet paper and paper towel tubes, cardboard boxes (think cereal, pasta, crackers, tissues, etc. as they are easy for us to cut) and clean plastic tubs (think yogurt and sour cream). Please feel free to send in any other items that might spark our class creativity. The class that brings in the most recyclables wins a prize!

Important dates to remember:
Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18 – NO SCHOOL for Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah

Friday, October 28 – 3:00 pm dismissal begins

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!
