Global Maker Day

What an awesome day JK had! This year, the challenges for JK were about designing and building simple structures and objects like castles and bridges, cars and machines or creating dinosaurs. Our class has so much fun making and building a creative noodle recipe, haunted house, a chicken coop, boats for babies, an ant house, a big comfy chair, a rocket ship, and so much more.

Congratulations JK on your designs and creations!

Recyclables, Please!

Calling all JK makers!

Global Maker Day is happening on Thursday, October 20th and we excited to take part in the challenges!

We are collecting items such as toilet paper and paper towel tubes, cardboard boxes (think cereal, pasta, crackers, tissues, etc. as they are easy for us to cut) and clean plastic tubs (think yogurt and sour cream). Please feel free to send in any other items that might spark our class creativity. The class that brings in the most recyclables wins a prize!

Important dates to remember:
Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18 – NO SCHOOL for Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah

Friday, October 28 – 3:00 pm dismissal begins

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!

Celebrating Sukkot in JK!

Sukkot is coming and preparations are underway in JK!

We got our hands on some giant boxes, tools, and art supplies and are busy transforming them into sukkahs. We made some lovely decorations – one to take home and one to decorate the OJCS sukkah.

Just a reminder that there is no school Monday, October 10th and Tuesday, October 11th for sukkot. See you on Wednesday!

Shabbat shalom and chag sameach!
